TOEIC 990, Eiken 1st Grade, IELTS 8.0

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I seriously started learning English when I was 20 years old and self-taught to achieve TOEIC 990 and Eiken 1st Grade while I was in college by applying the knowledge from TESL(Teaching English as a Second Language) and SLA (Second Language Acquisition). With this knowledge under my belt, I helped numerous students achieve fluency. After 3 months of my training program, most students improved their TOEIC score by at least 150 points.

I'm a CELTA-certified teacher.

  • I'm not sure if I'm learning English in the right way.
  • I want to know the right & efficient way to learn English.
  • I came to Canada before with a TOEIC score below 600.
  • I don't think my English is growing as much as I thought.
  • I can read but I can't speak English.
  • I'm in ESL schools, but I'm not sure if I'm really getting better.
  • I want to get a good TOEIC score before I go back to my home country.
  • I need to get a certain IELTS / TOEFL score in a few months.
  • I live in Canada for years but I still sound very foreign.
  • I wanna be able to work in an English speaking environment.
  • I want to enjoy movies without subtitles.
  • I understand what teachers are saying to me, but I can't understand what native speakers are saying to each other.
But How?

Are you one of these people?

Make no mistake. There is no magic with language learning. Language learning is a long trail.
But there is no need to take sidetracks.
There is a path that leads you straight to fluency.

look no further than Toby English!

You should have 2.5 times more input than output for the best learning efficiency
4 skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) can be divided into two types; Input (reading & listening) & output (writing & speaking). A lot of students focus on speaking, but findings from SLA reveals that your English actually grows while you are having language input. It is said that you should split your learning time into 70% input and 30% output for advanced learners. For beginners and intermediate learners...

For adults, there is a different way to reach English fluency efficiently!
Have you heard of critical period theory? It is said that people lose the ability to naturally pick up some features of language at certain ages. What it means is that adult learners won't be able to "learn English like a native". However, by using appropriate learning methods, adult learners can learn English faster than children!

Second-language acquisition (SLA) is the scientific discipline devoted to studying the process by which people learn a second language. SLA is not a method, but it's rather the academic collection of information about what worked and what did not work with language learning for generations.

Harness the power of SLA and learn English efficiently!!

One-on-One Online Training & Lessons

In a traditional classroom with 5 or more students, it is almost impossible for teachers to map out your English level correctly.

Also, native English teachers have a hard time pinpointing your difficulties since they've never learned English as an adult.

With Toby English, the main goal of your training session is to identify your most problematic weaknesses so you know the fastest way to grow. Based on the identified weaknesses you will get a fully personalized training menu for you to work on every day.

The Fastest Way

Shadowing, repeating, overlapping... There are many methods out there but you probably wonder if you are doing it correctly or how it's going to help you grow.

Language learning is very similar to going to the gym. At the gym, the trainer teaches you the correct form to lift weights, which muscle to work on, and what to eat every day to get the body you want in the shortest amount of time possible.

Toby will be your English trainer, showing you the fastest way to learn to speak English with his knowledge in second language learning and Cambridge-certified teaching methods.

"Thank you, Teacher Toby. Thank you for the English training for the last 3 months.

I’ve been studying English on and off for more than 20 years!

I used to start studying for a short period of time and stop for various reasons.

But finally, I was able to learn English with correct methods continuously!
